Tonight, Pack 39 did an awesome job on our August Service Project. The kids wrote over 30 cards to the various military servicemen deployed overseas from families at St. Peter's Church. These are guys like 1LT Joshua Connor, who flies a Medivac helicopter in northern Iraq, pulling injured soldiers out of the most dangerous places on Earth, or like 1LT David Roller, who serves in Afghanistan and has conditions so bad he sometimes has to bathe in an icy river. We need to keep these brave heroes in our thoughts and prayers. And we need to get them home soon.Special thanks go to the following Cub Scouts and their parents who participated tonight:

Great job boys! I know those soldiers, seaman, airmen, and marines will really appreciate the well wishes, and let's all hope they get home very VERY soon!

What a nice idea for a service project. I think too many times we forget to let our servicemen & women know how much we appreciate their great sacrifices so we can live in this wonderful land with all of our freedom.
